Our Story

Why I Built SoftSignal

A deeply personal look at the moments that inspired this journey toward clarity, dignity, and better health management.

The "I Think" Gap

The story didn't start in a tech lab. It started in a sterile doctor's office, sitting next to my 84-year-old mother, Glenda.

My mom lives with Type 2 diabetes. During her check-ups, the doctor would ask important questions:

"When did you start feeling that fatigue? How has your sleep been since we adjusted your medication?"

My mom would try her best to remember. She'd refer to an incident or a bad night, but she couldn't quite recall if it was a week ago or a month ago. I watched the frustration on her face—and the uncertainty in the doctor's eyes. We were trying to manage a serious illness using nothing but snapshots of memory.

The Weight of "Not Knowing"

Living with a chronic illness is exhausting. I saw my mom worry about her sugar levels every single day. That constant, low-level stress—the "not knowing" if she was actually getting better or just getting by—was a burden she shouldn't have to carry alone.

Traditional monitoring apps were too complex and too clinical. I realized that we didn't need more "alerts" or "alarms." We needed clarity.

Our Mission

Building a System for Dignity

I undertook this project because I believe that record-keeping shouldn't be a chore that causes more panic. I wanted to build a system that acts as a quiet witness to daily life.

Details aren't lost

Moments of pain, poor sleep, or low energy are captured in 10 seconds, while they are happening. No more guessing.

You become an advocate

The next time you sit in that doctor's office, you aren't guessing. You are handing over a full, clear overview of your reality.

The worry is reduced

By seeing the patterns, the "mystery" of the illness starts to fade, replaced by a sense of control and understanding.

A Better Life, Not Just a Better Patient

We are all just doing our best to live good, full lives despite the illnesses we manage. I built SoftSignal for my mom, but I'm sharing it with you because I know that having a "signal" in the noise of daily life makes all the difference.

It's about more than data. It's about making sure that when we talk to our doctors—and our families—we are heard, we are understood, and we are supported.
